Re-Learning to Trust

So many people say "trust me".  And we do, and we get hurt more often than not.

Trust is something that when you are hurt enough times, you don't give out freely.  It takes time, seeing people actually follow through on their word and actions and learning that even failable human beings are worth the time and effort to build relationships.

Psalm 33:4-6 says, "For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth."

Although people will fail us; and we will fail people. God does not.  I have experienced this enough in my own life - seeing God's faithfulness in the midst of trials, and happy events.

Isaiah 41:10 says, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

So no matter what you are going through, the place to be is in God's right hand...that's where I want to stay.  To experience peace in the midst of uncertainity, deep joy even in the midst of trial, hope in the face of despair, love when the world shows hate.

Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
