Doing Good and Drawing Closer
Galations 6:9 says, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
What a verse of encouragement! Do you want to see others blessed? Do you want to help others? It's a mindset - you choose to either be someone who makes a positive, or negative difference.
The Lord doesn't overlook what you do. He's sees it all, even the small things.
I often hear people saying how they won't help anyone because they "get burnt", "get used". Yes, you will if you help people experience these things. But then, why are you helping others? Is it so you get recognition? So you want the pat on the back the acknowledgement of "he/she is a good person?"
Or, do you help others, because you know Jesus loves them and He wants them to experience life in all its fullness? So a question to ask yourself, "Why do I want to help others? What's my motivation?"
Do you desire to know God better? Do you want to "draw near to God"? Or are you too busy doing your own thing?
James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” As we start each morning and end each day, have we made it part of daily habits to improve our relationship with God? Have we spent time with Him? He is always available to us. He loves us and wants to see us reach our full potential. Relationships that work mean both people put in, they don't just take.
To live differently means being committed to what you believe in. Not giving up and building your relationship with the Lord. It does make a difference, even in your everyday life!
