Lamentations 3:22-24
The steadfast love of the Lord never
ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is
your faithfulness. “The Lord is my
portion,” says my soul, therefore I will hope in him.”

John 13:34-35
“A new command I give you: Love one
another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone
will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
While Jesus was here on earth, even He was doing a new thing! The
Lord taught believers a new way of living, a new commandment, a new covenant:
to love as we have been loved.
Isaiah 43:18-19
But the Lord says, “Do not cling to
events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is
happening already—you can see it now! I
will make a road through the wilderness and give you streams of water there.
Throughout the Old Testament, We can see that even God was doing
a new thing. A new thing is a good thing. The Lord is making a WAY for us in
the wilderness. It is He who gives us
streams of living water in the times we are in the wastelands.
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the
new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
God’s Word tells us that we are being made new. It’s our choice to
believe it and walk in that truth. Alternatively, we can deny the power of God
and His power to change even the deadest of hearts into hearts softened with
love. The Lord is making all things new, He is bringing the dead back to life!
Psalm 40:3
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn
of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in
him”
Throughout the Psalms, we read words that are full of praise and
singing NEW songs to God! There are times when you will find yourself in a daunting
new place. In these times we need to sing
a new song of praise to our God! Praise is our weapon against the enemy and
fear.
Ezekiel 11:19
“I will give them an undivided heart and
put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give
them a heart of flesh”.
As children of God, we are given a new spirit. He turns our
hearts from stone to flesh. Now New beginnings. Now New mercies and newness of
life.
Matthew 26:27-29
“Then He took the cup, and gave thanks,
and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My
blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of
sins”
The Lord Jesus Christ shared a very precious time with his
disciples and brought in the new covenant.
Through his very body and his blood he gives us new life. This newness
of life and fresh beginnings isn’t anything we can bring together on our own.
Christ Jesus is our only hope of new life! And He gave His very life for us to
have that new life in Him.
Ephesians 4:22-24
“You were taught, with regard to your
former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its
deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on
the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness”
If we are to put on the new self then we must put off the old
ways and allow God to make us over in our new self. To be made new in true righteousness and
holiness.
Galatians 6:14-16
As for me, however, I will boast only
about the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; for by means of his cross the world
is dead to me, and I am dead to the world. It does not matter at all
whether or not one is circumcised; what does matter is being a new creature. As
for those who follow this rule in their lives, may peace and mercy be with
them—with them and with all of God's people!
You are a new creation in
Christ. That is what counts.
Isaiah 65:17
“See, I will create new heavens and a
new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to
mind”
Many people relive that past regularly and it can overtake their
life. If we are to become like Christ,
then we need to let go of the past and embrace the new season. Just like God
does.
