Count Your Blessings

Recently my family travelled up Cape York.  This family holiday had been planned for some time, however in tge lead up, as so often happens life became extremely busy.
Still, in spite of me forgetting a couple of minor items, we set off on our grand adventure!
Two vehicles, one camper and 5 people taking on corrugated roads, rough tracks and amazing scenery.
It has been seven years since we made the first trip into Cape York.  Much has changed; much hasn't.   There is continual roadworks and more sealed sections.
There is not much change in internet and phone coverage.  Fuel prices are still high but manageable.
The people are friendly and give you lots of local information if you stop and take the time to talk.
It's interesting that living in a camper for over a week reminds me how much 'stuff ' we accumulate but don't need.
Stepping back into the house upon our return seemed like walking into a huge space.
There is an old hymn which says,
"Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God has done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God has done.
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done."
